The pool area is surrounded by the building in like an inner courtyard. The neighborhood is very busy and made me a little nervous. There was a breakfast offered for a small surcharge but my wife and I left early the next morning so we did not try. No coffee maker nor microwave in the room. The room could have been a brighter color which would make it seem cleaner. It was an interesting design which I had not seen in other hotel rooms. There was a separate area with a counter and a mini-fridge. The room itself was a bit dated but did have a separate area for a couch and TV. The lobby is small and is shared by the 'casino' which is only about 20-30 slot machines and no table games and also the bar/restaurant.
The Madi-Gras was not as bad as some other hotels at the price but not as good as others.
